Introduction
The following is intended to create the best image out of a negative. While I am using two Photoshop filters (Helping Images and One-Step-Collage-and-Bleach Fix), the original image is properly colored. I am only using this effect to remove the blue tint. This effect may be useful if you do not like the blue cast of the edges of your scanned negatives that are then converted to positives.

I had been trying to do this for a while and I was finally able to put together something that produces a very nice image, but even with my final adjustments, you will still need to perform the process in a second step.
Settings
There are four main settings you have to decide on:
Level: Select the level at which you want to correct the image. The default value is set to 5%. Selecting Levels will change the histogram of the image. There are three gradations:
Full: This applies to the entire image. The value is 100%.
Normal: The image is trimmed of the outer areas
