Running for President: A Photographic Documentary
On April 22 and April 29, 2014 we collaborated with artist Richard Eastman and photographer Jack Sanders to do a series of portraits as part of a photoshoot project.
The project brought together an already large group of friends who were interested in pursuing a political career. The full-length film featured a diverse group of Americans who were involved in politics at both the state and national level and who were openly discussing how to become better politicians. Working with our founding members plus our social media interns they managed to film, edit and exhibit one per week. A group of five planned to run in the presidential primaries in order to raise awareness and funds for the cause.
The result is Run for President: a series of candid portraits and short interviews featuring Americans who are running for President. The project will culminate in the final screening of the full length feature film during the Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2015 at the Eccles Theater.

Q: Can you introduce yourself, and give us a little background on your journey into politics?
A: I’m Jack Sanders. I’m a photographer based in New York City. My work focuses on narratives as a way of understanding the world and people’s emotional, as well as physical connection to the world around them.
I came out to LA to work on the campaign but, being a photographer, I’m drawn to political movements and politics in general. I’m excited by the process and the idea of breaking through the barriers in this country and making change. My hope is that this journey will inspire others to want to follow.
