It seems that the design team of Atlus has announced a couple of new titles as well as the schedules for their work to-do. But hopefully we can see that they’re working on Digimon Xros Wars too!
On the first day, Ryuji Kawamura, Kensuke Miyata, and Kazuhiko Toyama of the Atlus Design Team focused on the discussion of the Shin Megami Tensei series. Kawamura – Lead Game Designer and Producer at ATLUS – began the panel with some words about the latest title in the series, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. The topic he drew comments for was how the series fits with the Demon Fusion concept that was brought forward by the first title in the SMT series Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, which was also the first SMT title developed by the Atlus design team.
But such discussions are not solely the work of Kawamura, as Heiji Furuya also took a hand in hosting the panel. Furuya is the President of DT Design & HD Artworks, one of the game production companies of Atlus that does the sound, music, and visual work for the design teams.
On the first day, it was the central character of Shin Megami Tensei IV who was being brought up, as the next topic of the panel was discussions of the protagonist and the denizens of the world as well as how each of them is different. The note card that Kawamura handed out said that it was “Shin Megami Tensei IV. The People Who Survived.” And this initial statement of the game served as a way to draw the audience’s attention.
