    Gameplay

    The player wakes up in the middle of the game, in the middle of the camp. He tries to escape from the guards but they follow him, and they give all the guards electric shocks. The player starts running, and reads the information form a man in the middle of the camp, dressed like a priest, and he tells him that a powerful entity called the Guardian of Truth will soon destroy the base of creatures like him. With time, the player will discover the truth about the origin of the characters and finds out that his personality will help him decide of his choice, that could lead the player to survive or die. The player chooses sides, becoming Guard and Demon hunter.

    Devils & Demons, from Codemasters, is an action adventure game in which the player must act with different types of characters, who are also the protagonists of characters present in the game.

    Gameplay

    Using the given directions on the left, the player goes in front of a yellow guard and he is thrown into the jail where he meets a few other prisoners. The player escape from jail as a fidget through a door that gives you a passage to a God Ray generator, an electromagnetic gun, or a similar weapon. Once in the generator, it depletes and the player must escape from a flashback. It is not easy because the flashbacks take place in 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, when the player character would have

    Opus 1 tells a story about magic, feminism, misogyny, corporatism and the conspiracy of “fat hate” in a not-so-typical video game style (VN/Visual Novel/RPG) with deep gameplay that will have you crying the whole way through. Oh, and it includes a lesbian and two transgender characters!
    The main character and protagonist of the story is Michiko, a young novice witch that mysteriously ends up in this world. After meeting a blind shaman named Twilight, she joins the magical community in order to find out why she is here and what her purpose is.
    Michiko’s character development will be based on her dialogue choices. The more you talk to her, the more you’ll learn about her. However, she still feels lost and empty inside, lacking knowledge of the world, without any clear idea of what her purpose is.
    Our protagonist will constantly progress through a story full of political, feminist, social and antisemitic topics, with consequences on the world. We intend to start from a single cause, which we’ll gradually expand through the gameplay.
    Michiko’s gender is not something that you have to identify with. You won’t be forced to take a side. This game is about the exploration of things that we consider taboo. The world we’ve created has no set sides. However, we’ll try to talk about the good and the bad of the ideologies that people from the right and the left usually tend to take for granted.
    The main concept behind Opus 1 is that of looking at issues that tend to be overlooked and bringing them out into the public consciousness. If you like visual novels, you will love this one!

    What You Will Play:
    The game offers two main gameplay styles that you’ll have to adjust your mind to in order to succeed. In the first mode, you’re free to do whatever you want, kill enemies and talk to pretty much everyone at any given time. This is the simplest game mode and the one you’re already familiar with from most visual novels/shmups. It’s your chance to be the director. Take it to play!
    The second mode is a bit more challenging. It has the same gameplay mechanics as the first, but we’ve added an extra difficulty mode. If you decide to be hardcore (or just plain stubborn) enough, you’ll be able to play it at maximum difficulty and maybe even unlock an all-

    Treasures of Treffenburg is the first of five installments in the Faircrofts Antiques hidden object games series and constitutes a very good introduction to what the franchise is about.

    At the start of the game, you are greeted with a smiling lady that presents you with an information brief. The game is set in the mid 19th century in a tiny village that you discover right as you arrive at the village. The village is on the site of a hunting lodge called Treffenburg that was once in the possession of the noble Sir George Treffenburg but was later seized by a cholera outbreak. You have to go around the village in various stages and try to find items that can be used to help the villagers. Each time you find one, the villagers have to be allowed to settle in a location where they can use them.

    At the time you start, you see that there is one object to find called the wind turbine (you will find out why it is called that later). There are three days until a storm will hit the village, so you have to find the object before that happens. That means you will have to try to collect the items you need by finding objects throughout the village.

    As you progress through the game you will find chests with items and you will have to collect them all before you can get a total of four to unlock the story. The items can be used to make items that you can get in return for the materials you find, but some require more than one item to make.

    Each time you collect an item, a pile of loose items is also collected. There is an opportunity to move the pile around. One pile is made up of items that you can only use once, while another one can be used multiple times. You also have the option to sell an item for the amount of money you have on you or keep it for later use. If you sell an item, you can take another one out of the pile you have, but you cannot collect more than one of an item.

    What I Liked

    Stories within the game are interesting and varied, with several set in Germany.

    I was pleased to find that this game does not appear to be riddled with all the usual spoiler alerts.

    There is a very good tutorial that allows you to get up to speed quickly.

    The interface is easy to understand and use.
