MySQL database security
I am looking into purchasing a license for MySQL Database on Windows and I am looking for input on how secure it is to use, as I am not too familiar with them. When you think of a database it typically sounds like a certain sort of a solution for a business, but in reality any server running a database is open to vulnerability. Not to mention, it doesn’t seem that it would take very much to hack my personal server (as in, say finding and making a way into my MySQL database, even if it is locked down). Also, would it be safe to use a free database like MongoDB when it comes to this issue? The privacy issues are great too, although I wouldn’t have the technical knowhow to do it myself. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
