This suggested that high levels of circulating aldosterone do not activate a tubuloglomerular feedback response in a manner consistent with the concept that this mechanism is responsible for the rise in glomerular filtration rate observed in response to elevated plasma aldosterone levels. These observations raised questions regarding the existence of a tubuloglomerular feedback response.
