Pokemon Sapphire is the third game in the Pokemon series and is available on the 3DS. In this Pokemon game, the player is allowed to choose one of three new core members: (from top left) Charlie, Max, and Ruby.

Pokémon Sapphire features a totally new leveling system in which the player must travel across seven districts to interact with metagaming groups. Aside from this new system, the mechanics of the game remain the same as in previous Pokemon games. The main aim of the game is to “catch ‘em all”, and the main goal is to earn the highest score, which is based upon the new leveling system. If the game is well rounded, this scoring system will take a backseat to challenge mode rankings. However, the basic gameplay will stay much the same. Pokémon Sapphire has seven (plus the newly introduced two) main Pokemon to keep. It has eight possible Pokemon to catch and train, in addition to the main characters. Every other Pokemon has its own color highlighting (Ex: Slowpoke has a pink highlighter and Torchic has a yellow highlighter). The eight Pokémon in the game are:
