AutoCAD Architecture
AutoCAD has been an industry leader since its introduction over three decades ago. Thousands of AutoCAD users around the world use AutoCAD software on day-to-day basis to prepare construction drawings, design computer aided design (CAD) models, design mechanical systems, and develop 3D and 2D drawings.

AutoCAD Architecture is the core of the AutoCAD software. The core consists of the core drawing model, which is the building block of a drawing. Core also has application programming interfaces (APIs), a graphical user interface (GUI), and software components. AutoCAD Architecture also has toolbox, which can be divided into two parts, work areas and template draw areas.

AutoCAD Work Areas
AutoCAD Work Areas are user interface components for drawing and preparing various types of drawings. The toolbox contains six Work Areas.
1. Drafting Area – Design drawings, drawing models, and the workflow process of preparation of a new drawing.
2. Tables Area – Stores pre-existing data and is used to design 3D models.
3. Toolbar Area – Contains command buttons and drop-down menus. The size of the toolbar area is adjusted based on the window size.
4. Plot Area – Design a 2D plot and adjust it, and print the plot.
5. Object Area – Allows users to create and edit objects and its properties.
6. Drawing Area – Design models, prepare new drawing and print it.
AutoCAD Templates
AutoCAD templates are user interface components. They can contain various layers, which can be made visible or invisible by the user. Templates can be stored in the following two locations:
1. The Desktop – Templates stored in the desktop area can be opened from the Template Manager window.
2. Work Area – Templates stored in a work area can be opened from the Template Manager window.
There are a total of five templates available in AutoCAD Architecture. These templates are available for both Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk AutoCAD LT.

PDF-based presentation

When saving the drawing as PDF file, the “Save as PDF” button is not available.
Web access
AutoCAD 2009 introduced Web access for the first time. Web access allows any version of AutoCAD drawings to be used on a web browser. The capability is available on a personal computer, or a network of computers. The software can also be accessed remotely over the Internet. To access the software, the user is required to use a web browser to access the website that offers AutoCAD drawings to access the software.
AutoCAD Web Access
AutoCAD Web Access is an Internet-based web browser-based user interface (UI) for AutoCAD that allows users to view the drawings directly on the web browser. It can be used in a web browser on a personal computer, or over the Internet. It requires an Internet connection to view the drawings. It also requires a valid AutoCAD license. It is available in one of the following versions:
