Roblox is a community-powered virtual world that gives its users the opportunity to create their own games and play with friends.
Some parents are accusing the makers of the online game Roblox of encouraging predators to groom children using the platform.
More than 2,000 parents have signed an online petition to “remove the ability for children under 13 to play” the game.
One of the petition’s supporters, Philip Marais, claims his son was “groomed by a predator using Roblox”.
He says the company, Roblox Corp., failed to disclose the predator’s identity and, as such, should not be allowed to continue to foster the social network.
Marais’ son, a 15-year-old boy who lives in South Africa, was abducted and trafficked by a paedophile on the game in January 2018.
He was first targeted when he showed interest in discovering sex offenders on the platform.
According to his father’s claim, a Roblox employee told him his son would be safe because people don’t speak about their criminal past on the website.
He alleges the moderator went on to reveal his son’s personal details.
“Someone on the site was able to extract records from his school and from health-care providers, identify private medical information such as his last menstrual cycle and intimate information,” the petition reads.
“After this information was obtained, your son was groomed by a predator using Roblox.”
Another user has also come forward, claiming that her daughter, who is a pre-teen, discovered the man “under the guise of a game character”.
The mother claims Roblox has no way to verify the trustworthiness of new members, despite promising to do so in the past.
“To both the Roblox representative and the rest of Roblox employees — please keep your heads up,” she adds.
“I will not stand by and allow the safety of my child to be compromised.”
Worse: the predators are more than happy to take money from the kids. You don’t know how long ago the trauma happened to him, but people who get abused are likely to have serious mental health problems long after they have recovered from the assault.
Poor Roblox. You deserve better than to be a glorified chat site for criminals.

If someone tries to hack your account, you can find out by going to the Users tab on your profile and under the Activity section, you will see ‘Robux’. There is no way to hack anyone’s account to get robux unless they do it on their own.
