Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE.com) – Everyone, even the Transportation Security Administration, sometimes takes a little extra time off for fun and recreation.
On Wednesday, TSA agents showed off their different sides at a bar in Albuquerque when one showed up to work on a second job.
“We’re all employed during the week,” said TTB agent David Jose of TSA at Albuquerque International Sunport.
“And we’re employed on the weekends.”
This Wednesday was no exception. As Jose was waiting to do a pat down on a flight into Albuquerque, he explained, “I was in here doing some work at the bar. But my job, when it comes to my job, comes first.”
Jose works another job at the bar on the weekends, bartending, and then comes to work on the weekends to do his TSA job.
“If it doesn’t matter what I’m doing when I go into work, as long as I get to go to work, I’m okay with that.”
While Jose and his coworkers have a strict rule that no government ID is allowed in the bar during his off-hours, he said the rule is meant for his employers, not himself.
“My boss gets upset if I’m in there drinking. So my boss knew I wasn’t just there drinking, I was working.”
Jose said he’s been doing this for several months.
