If you have played Hearthstone for a while, you might have noticed what people are using. The Hunter Bane Spider lists from the Goblins vs Gnomes limited, rather than the revamped standard decklist. People have made the leap to both mono-black and mono-red to take advantage of the Spider, but with a more controlled tempo.
Dire Frenzy is a versatile single-class class, with a plethora of synergies. It can block and remove a minion from the board, trade a minion with a hero, and even swap a hero for an underling (if you don’t see the brilliance of that, don’t judge just yet). One of the best aspects of this class, and one of the reasons it’s here in this iteration, is it can be used to clear multiple minions off the board. This makes it a true burst removal effect that can be used to clear out a single threat or a few threats. While not necessarily a true Mage, it does have a similar build to a Mage, and that’s the power of the Lion’s Mane.
Dennis “IdrA” Rölle is here to announce his resignation from the professional Hearthstone player community. No reason was given, and there is no plans to further support the player going forward. It will be interesting to see where IdrA ends up.
Hearthstone was only announced in 2011. Since then, it has evolved from a card game into a full-fledged platform, with its own TV show, Twitch channel, player cards, and novel ways to play. In 2015, its 10 million monthly players were split across more than 200 unique games, with Blizzard adding more games each year. [Cards] is currently the most popular game on Twitch, with a dedicated playerbase of over 450,000.
woah. it seems like this is a great opportunity to smash the metagame into a million pieces, and not to be a dick about it. don’t get me wrong, i agree that blizzard is handling hearthstone a bit weirdly, but this is 100% a comment on the community. do you feel like this feedback is constructive, or do you feel like the community is more reacting to the situation and not contributing so much on the ground?
i don’t think they should buff duelist in any way. i think the opposite is better – make her even more shitty, so that it gives incentive to build hearthstone based on control and cc. furthermore, i’m not sure how nerfing her d/b (or c/d) and increasing her r/m/x/y/p spells will increase her health that much.
change control, show us what you’re building and what counters are coming, and have the best decks at the highest level be the premiere deck. if blizzard thinks they’re making this game too casual in the way they’re handling it, they’re going to cause some issues. i get that they’re keen to have big hype/arguments for every new card, but that’s a problem that they need to sort out. it’s also why i’m not really looking forward to the expansions, because i think they’re going to end up just not providing any sort of direction for this game. i don’t think blizzard are stupid, and i know they’re aware of how the community reacts to every expansion, so they know the best thing is to give us a taste of what’s coming, and leave the content to the best players.
i have a hard time playing against boards without an extra copy of a secret. the most annoying part of my time playing hearthstone is controlling the opponent’s secret win rate through a quick tempo mage with early removal and healing. winning at the endgame and snowballing it will be much more difficult if you get less chance to make an extra secret. also, i hate having to let the opponent force my draw with taunt minion, usually bloodfen raptor, pounce, or taunt.
