octanerender for lightwave is one of the lightwave plug-ins, it is not a modification of the lightwave plug-in. octanerender for lightwave is created by otoy, the developers of octanerender. it is a lightwave plug-in and is an integrated part of lightwave version 8.8 and later. it is designed to work with lightwave version 8.8 and later and it will not work with earlier versions of lightwave. octanerender for lightwave is completely separate from lightwave and uses its own native lightwave plug-in and rendering engine. octanerender for lightwave is optimized to work with all of the features of lightwave and with many more features added over the course of its development.

octane render is available as a standalone application (for linux, osx, and windows), as a plugin for 3ds max, maya, cinema4d, and lightwave and also as a plugin for octanerender.com as well as the free rendering engine octanerender.com is a part of the octane render suite, we have configured a project in octanerender.com so you can play around with it yourself.
for a lightwave project, the settings that you need to consider are:screen size: 1024 x 768resolution: 72 dpiframe rate: 24 fpsfor this configuration, the settings in the octanerender.com project are as follows:screen size: 1024 x 768resolution: 72 dpiframe rate: 24 fpsas you can see we have the same screen size, resolution, and frame rate that we had for the lightwave project above. we are also using the gpu for rendering, although there is nothing special about the settings above. it doesn’t matter what settings you use, but they should be as close as possible to the settings in the lightwave project above.
in order to get this project running, you will need to create a new project in octanerender.com as well as lightwave. you will also need to download the octanerender.com zip file above, unzip it into a folder on your computer and open the octanerender.com project by double clicking the.zip file. you will also need to make sure that you have the octanerender.com application installed and running on your computer.
