the viva pinata series is one of my all time favorites. it was such a great way to play. it was the first game that made me realize that video games can be much more than just a competitive sport. it was my first foray into the world of gardening, and it was such a great experience. in addition, i spent the first few days of each summer vacation with a group of my friends building, planting, and playing viva pinata until we were all sweaty. (we ended up being so tired by the end of the night that we all decided to go to sleep immediately.) while we never actually won viva pinata, we were always the best at playing it, and every year we hosted a tournament to crown the king or queen of viva pinata.
one of the other great features of the viva pinata series was the interactions between animals and plants. the plants and animals would talk to each other, and you could speak to the animals to gain their loyalty. the animals would also talk to each other and have conversations. you could also cook food for the animals and make them happy. the animals would also interact with the clothing, and the clothing would interact with the plants and animals. there was a lot of subtlety and creativity in the way that these interactions were designed.
rare replay has many wonderful games, but viva pinata trouble in paradise is easily one of my favorites. i would of loved to have been able to play it more then 2 years ago, but thanks to the amazing restoration the game is finally being played by a new generation of gamers. i would recommend playing this game to anyone looking for a great time.
