great synth! it has all the features a pro could ask for and is a joy to use. the presets will give you all the keys you need to start creating some interesting sounds in no time. the effects are a bonus, the arpeggiator and the modulation are a big plus, the sound quality is great and the price is perfect, a must have for any synth lover.
after you’ve created all those cool sounds you can start experimenting with the modulation and arpeggiator, you can then move to the insert effects and add some crazy sidechained sounds to those cool patterns. and the best part is you can always change the tones used in the modulation and arpeggiator, and change the settings for the insert effects as well! if you’re looking for a great synth with sounds to play with, this is the one!
i think this is the best synth around. one of the best things about it is that it has full control over all the features in the circuit, so you can dial in whatever sounds you want and set them to whatever you want. there’s also a built in arpeggiator with 16 step mode. the insert effects are very good and there’s an oscillator filter as well. and this synth is really fun to play with, you can create some amazing sounds with it. it’s an excellent synth.
this synth has a great sound and has a lot of different sounds in it. it’s very easy to use and has a lot of different features. some people may not like that the presets aren’t organized by category, but you can organize your own presets. it also has a great arpeggiator and a great insert effects.
i bought it and the minute i open edit and saw the cpu shot up like nobodys business. i knew i’d get rid of it. it made me have to choose between too many things i had to remove so i could use it because it was so cpu hungry.i have an i7 and sure, can handle this synth but, it’s not just about loading one synth and saying an i7 can’t handle lush. i have a template setup for composing that includes loads of synths and on top of that effects compressors etc for my projects. this is where lush fails me. i have multiple instances of omnisphere and tons of other stuff that are not exactly gifts from the cpu gods but none of what i have (and i have fair amount of stuff) drains cpu like this does.sound was ok but i’m not a synth guy to the extent that i’m willing to make the kind of concessions this synth requires me to make in order to use it in my setup i won’t buy any more synths like that. this is just my personal experience and the way i work. ymmv.
i got the ‘full version’ of lush a year ago, when it was at version 0.3. at that time it was free software, and the author just spent time on it to make it as good as it was. the problem is, he made it for himself and it is not meant for the public. if he intended it to be the public, he would make it available for the public. he wants to be a free developer, and he wants to make the synth public, but he is not. he is just a free developer, but his synth is not free.
if he wants to make a product for the public, then he has to charge something, or give it for free. it is not free for the user, so there is no excuse. it is not his fault, it is your fault. this is why there is no multithreaded synth. all plugins are single threaded, and that is the way they have to be. there is no way to work around this and do multi-core work and in the same time be able to do real single-core work.
the d16 group lush-101 virtual synthesizer plug-in has a lot going for it, but some aspects of the user interface need tweaking. the preset browser is easy to navigate, but its unresponsive at times. and if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to try out different patches, the editor lacks any sort of library browser, so you’ll have to hunt down and organize your own. for the most part, however, d16 group lush-101 is a worthy entry in the world of virtual synthesizers.
sounds like a very good synth.. i downloaded it and played with it for a little while and liked the sounds it produced and was very excited to have it on my computer. but after a week of using it, i found that it was a pain to work with. when i played with it i didn’t know how to organize the presets and there was not a single option to show the effects or a library or anything. just a bunch of presets. i don’t know if they are all the presets but some are not. the preset browser didn’t work. i tried to save my favorites but when i went to save them it said that there wasn’t any presets. i got frustrated and got rid of it. i don’t know if i can recommend it.
