The low latency compression can be used in conjunction with the parallel send&return of DynOne in a mono chain. This gives you the benefit of both a delay and a compressor in a single chain. You can switch between modes using the Centre-Side Mode button.
This compressor can be used with an Aux Send and Return using either the Centre-Side Mode button or in Mono mode. Centre-Side Mode is an easy place to find a compressor to fit with your workflow and the handy Centre-Side Mode button sits on the main toolbar.
Opening a stereo track in a mix lets you hear how this plugin helps, though the only stereo panning is provided by the plug-in using the usual master-centric left and right balance. That said, the DynOne works extremely well here, even though it only offers X-Y axis up-mixing, and features were particularly vocal and trebly sounds like our spoken excerpts were presented with much more energy and structure.
The focus at the time of writing is on the Pro Tools application, which, even in its Beta phase, has all the functionality of a release-grade application. Save your project for later (if its a short-term test of the DynOne), and youll notice features that are obviously absent from the standalone version that are included in Pro Tools, like the ability to change your DynOnes settings from a master pan; route the plugin to other tracks; dynamically capture input from an FFT and apply it to the compressor; and most compellingly, multiple child tracks. Also, a welcome addition that the company has made to the standalone version is the ability to save presets to a file for use on a different track, which is a significant advantage over having to painstakingly modify the parameters every time. With the ability to save presets, it becomes much easier to return to the sound you want without needing to struggle to remember the correct settings for it.
