How to migrate multiple site collections in SSMS using export-spweb?

I have an entire solution with over 50 SP sites, they are all inherited from the central site. The central site is (for legal reasons) a rehosted SharePoint Central Admin which is currently not accessible.
I am trying to move each SP site to a custom domain and a different root folder structure.
In my attempts to do this I have used the export-spweb tool to export the sites, but it seems to be ignoring the inherit argument when generating a new manifest file.
I’m using SharePoint 2010 with the 32-bit version of SSMS.
If I omit the inherit argument then the sites get exported as a site collection, if I use inherit then it just copies the current site and its contents into the new site collection.
How can I export multiple sites as site collections using the export-spweb tool?

The solution does not have to use SSMS, but I am stuck with the SSMS at this point.

Not possible using export-spweb as it can only use one Web Application.
