In this article, I will show you how to use Photoshop Elements to edit images, change fonts and create memes.
Step 1. Opening and saving images
The easiest way to open an image in Photoshop Elements is to import it from a device like a camera or a digital photo frame.
Otherwise you can open the image by first going to File > Open and choosing a file. Then you can add an image on top by dragging a picture from your computer’s hard drive or from the image that you want to edit.
There are three options for output when you are finished. You can save the image to your computer, save the image in the file format of your device or copy it to the clipboard.
For example, when I import an image from my digital photo frame, I save it in the JPEG format. When I copy the image to my clipboard, I could paste it into a document or a web page.
Step 2. Checking image quality
Once you have opened the image, you should add a file description to the image. Click on the file description button to add a title and description to the image.
If you already have a description, you can change the information that is displayed in the box.
Step 3. Adjusting brightness and color
There are four adjustment tabs that are available in Photoshop Elements when you are editing images. You can use the Adjustments to change brightness, color, contrast, and sharpness.
To change the brightness, click on the first tab, the Enhance. Adjust the settings to the part of the image that you want to make brighter. The slider provides you with 12 settings that you can use to brighten a picture.
The other tabs are for a white balance adjustment, the Enhance, Color, and Tone.
To adjust white balance, click on the third tab, Tone. Click in the area of the image where you want the white balance to change and set the sliders to the brightness that you want.
The last tab is for the sharpening. Click on the last tab, Sharpening, and use the slider to adjust the sharpness of the image.
Step 4. Deleting unwanted items
When you are editing an image, there may be items that you do not want. To remove them, click on the first tab, Enhance, and then click on the first icon on the first row of icons, Remove Background.

I want to close with an example that illustrates a different aspect of Bush’s thinking. On March 14, 2003, a secret memo written by Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and distributed to the White House was leaked to the press. The memo argued that Iraq’s president, Saddam Hussein, was intent on attacking the United States of America; that the United States was right to remove Saddam and replace him with a pro-U.S. government; and that the greatest threat to U.S. security was weapons of mass destruction and not al-Qaida.
The memo — at least in its later, leaked form — was wrong on all three counts. Saddam, the memo argued, was a brutal dictator, not a terrorist; he was an ally of al-Qaida, not an enemy; and he had no weapons of mass destruction to threaten the United States. Nevertheless, the memo suggested that the White House didn’t actually care whether Saddam possessed WMD or al-Qaida did; that the terrorist threat was secondary; and that the real threat to the United States was Saddam’s autocratic regime.
I would argue that this attitude, of regarding Iraq as an objective rather than a subject of humanity, is extremely dangerous. Rather than alienating the Iraqi people and thereby encouraging them to rise up against Saddam, it would make the situation in Iraq even more volatile.
The same goes for the attitude of viewing ourselves as subjects of no interest to anyone but U.S. domestic politics. We cannot justify American military interventions on the grounds that we’re fighting for democracy or freedom, or that we’re doing so in the name of humanity, or in the name of the United Nations, or because it’s the “right thing” to do. I doubt that this is what Bush or Cheney were thinking when they decided to invade Iraq, but it surely influenced their decisions and their attitudes in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
