The story of ELDEN RING takes place in the Lands Between. This means there are two worlds which coexist parallel to each other: the Aion World and the Dream World. While the Aion World is that of dreams and monsters, the Dream World is the place where living beings sleep. There are beings called Souls which are souls of the dead. Souls can be located in the Dream World, which their bodies may be replaced with an imitative spirit called Petals. Petals wander and gather these souls, which are called Souls. When a person dies, their Petals gather their Souls. Then, they are revived in the Aion World, and they awaken as new living beings. After they are revived, they are governed by prophecies, and a new life is provided for them. In the beginning, Petals are available to only a very few Souls, and they make the Petals gather even more Souls. Therefore, people who can “achieve” a Petal are noted as Elden Lords. The Elden Lords are placed on a path to paradise, and they can gather souls to become even more powerful, but their strength is reflected in the Dream World. However, there is an imbalance in the Dream World. Some people can use a special ability of resurrecting others. These people possess “some kind of darkness”. This is the peril on which the story of the Lands Between and the Elden Lords is based. The world that appears in the dream world is the world of souls, and this dream world is the everyday world. The Elden Lords are people who play a role in this dream world.
