(Yesterday I covered the rediscovery of planets inside the Discovered Space Planets, so this post is a bit redundant, really. However, I’m going to finish it up anyway, so sit tight.)
As I mentioned yesterday, there were five known planets in the Dwarf Hold Hold galaxy: V54 Torus III, J3 Bard’s Planet, A5 Fecundia, M5 Elizabeth and D1 Aristoi.
V54 Torus III was more or less a neat visual of a ball of gas. The planet was approximately 290 light-years from its home star. The star-orbiting dwarf was much smaller than the planet.
J3 Bard’s Planet was probably the biggest planet in the whole Discovered Space Planets. It was about 1,136 light-years away from the star system and was dominated by a dense brown dwarf that was about 5,500 times the mass of Jupiter.
A5 Fecundia was an old planet that was about 914 light-years from its home star. It was made of stellar matter rather than brown dwarfs. It was about 1.5 times the mass of Jupiter.
M5 Elizabeth was a planet that was about 1,290 light-years away from its home star. It was a tiny planet that was just slightly bigger than Neptune. It was approximately a fifth of the mass of the Earth.
D1 Aristoi was a planet that was about 12,000 light-years away from the star system in an extremely gaseous disc.
The second Discovered Space Planets galaxy was “eXcentrifugal Force”, a space brimming with so many planets, stars, globular clusters, etc. The planets seemed to be aligned along a central axis.
But in this space, it was the Earth that was the most interesting. It was the only planet in the galaxy that was habitable.
The star-orbiting objects were star systems that were inhabited by more than just one planet. The lone star-orbiting dwarf was in its direction.
There was a lot to discover in “eXcentrifugal Force”, including spacey galaxies and planets. And, as I mentioned, two gardens of water – the Ocean of Water and the Ocean of Oil. These two structures, as I’ve discussed previously, formed numerous planets in the Ocean of Oil

Faraway Islands is a top-down 2D story driven survival game, set on procedurally generated islands you can travel between and explore. Game contains classic survival mechanics like crafting based on combining, gathering resources and food, farming, hunting animals, increasing character skills, building shelter and defending from enemies.
You play as a survivor of passenger ship that sunk in wild storm. As you try to find a way home from these islands you encounter new friends, that will help you, and enemies giving you a hard time.
All islands are procedurally generated, that means everything from its shape to number of crabs and mushrooms is randomly chosen and then created by predefined rules. Not all resources are the same on every island, so you must explore and find what you need.
Creating items is done by combining or processing items in your inventory. These combinations are not shown to player from start, so you have to try new combinations. Some are recommended to you by story characters or written in quests.
To ensure your safety from predators and enemies you can build your own shelter. Game has several basic buildings to choose and construct from and more are unlocked by increasing your skills.
Wild animals are dangerous, and you should be cautious when moving around them. So beware that pack of tigers can kill you quite quickly. There are also human enemies that will attack every few days. You can prepare for these situations by crafting weapons and armor.
Gameplay is pretty linear – you have a ship (your ship in the game is represented as a bar with three lines) and you have to repair it on each island, sail to another island, have a sidequest, go hunting for food or have to fight enemies on the island.
For many people who play Faraway Islands, the gameplay comes down to “I have a new skill point, so I can do more for now”. The reason I used the word “for now” is that some parts of the game provide endless possibilities for gaining a big advantage over the other people, so when you’re locked in a map with other people and it’s your move, why not gain some advantage?
Each player (or at least each CPU) is in “story mode” and can’t interact with other players until they are unlocked.
The game is full of text, with multiple localisation options for every NPC, item, crafting recipe, etc.
