PHP file upload that doesn’t save to temp folder
I have a PHP script that is supposed to upload files. After that, it should check the error_log of Apache2 and display the results. However, when I upload a file and it doesn’t get a file size, I get an error in the Apache log file.
So, my question is, can I upload a file and get a file size? I would prefer to not have a temp folder and I would prefer if the file was just copied into the appropriate folder.

There are several ways to achieve this – for example PHP will automatically store file contents in a different directory to the actual file if the new file name does not exist. This can be seen when using the rename() function.
You can also create a directory for the file and then move it to the correct directory later.
A better solution might be to use a library that abstracts some of this away such as
