Theres just something about them. Its the endless rows and rows of options and settings in a menu that doesnt have the simplest of functions and the colours just dont seem quite right. And the generally poor performance in terms of tracking edges, text, and even obvious objects like cars is something that makes you wonder if theres a really simple way to get the colours right. But, as I mentioned earlier, thats not something that is really necessary for a lot of us. We just want to be able to rely on the display, whether it be on the editing side, or on the part where we see the finished image/video and maybe make some small changes from there.
The SpyderX Elite however, has completely removed that doubt. It is easy to use, its fast, and it gives you a completely accurate calibration with a lot fewer settings than the Spyder5 Elite. Certainly as easy as the earlier models, but also a lot faster, smoother, and better performing. Also, you dont have to run it a whole lot before it even sees the colours of your prints. (at least compared to the Spyder5 Elite)
Sure, the Spyder4 Elite has its quirks. Like all things, its not perfect. As with every product, there are some things that need improving and fixing. But, overall, its a seriously excellent calibration device. In some ways, it performs better in some aspects than the other Spyder device I tried, while in some others, it does perform better. Theyve all improved on their earlier iteration, and in many ways, theyre all better than they used to be. But, this is the best of them. Without a doubt, my top choice as far as Spyder calibration devices go. So whether youre looking for an easy set of easy to use tools to calibrate a display for your photo editing or if youre looking for something with a lot of bells and whistles, the SpyderX Elite is a pretty solid choice.Well recommended.
Just like with the Spyder3Pro, you have to calibrate the Spyder Elite if you want it to take into account the ambient light sensor within it. In the event you never calibrate it, the Spyder Elite will not display it.
