sorry to be a perpetual downer but i need to rant about bit torrent for a moment. ive always had the same opinion – what goes up, must come down. and in the time when i used to get music from the bbs’ on it’s way down, people complaining about the music, the methods in which it got to them was the way it was supposed to be:
– because it was popular to complain about it (imho: morally, sometimes even to the point of causing direct harm) it got fixed, and a more popular and better way of doing it arrived
– thanks to a uniform internet protocol that has allowed all this to happen, i can cross town in seconds and it’s not an issue anymore. (im not sure if you know or not but, bittorrent is udp based. )
