I have a mid-2011 Mac that runs High Sierra. It works fine and I have no reason to upgrade anytime soon. Adobes new Photoshop requires a newer OS but I can rent their unsupported older version (ver. 21.2.4) on CC. Im thinking, it makes more sense to buy a used software package rather than pay rent to Adobe. I am not buying it for the Support. I just want a Photoshop and Illustrator package that is compatible with my OS system. Does that make sense
I have been reading for a long time that the best way to get updates to your Adobe applications is by the on-line installer sent to you, and available after hitting the update button. I think that is the best way. And its entirely possible to do this with the latest version of CS4 or any version. I am not so sure about older versions though? Im sure that is something to look into for the future. In any case, it appears I have missed out completely on getting updates for CS4 on my Mac. I have been missing out on updates for other Adobe programs. (where can I do this?) I need to find the link to get the installer. If I can find it I think I will be much happier. Maybe if I wait another day or two I will see that link.

I would guess that this user may be a disgruntled Adobe user who thinks he/she can make some easy cash by selling copies of the software with a fake license key. It is not uncommon for this to happen, and some seem to believe that paying for a CS download, and receiving a cheaper in-product registration key, makes them some kind of Adobe Master. It does not. It is an illegal act, and a necessary one to make some extra cash, but the software is not to be trusted.
