Cracking Adobe Photoshop is not as straightforward as installing it. It requires a few steps to bypass the security measures that are in place. As this is an offline review, I’ve been very careful with my process. I haven’t played with any of the tools as of yet (though I will soon) but I feel like this program was worth the time and diligence.

I went to the store for my work, and it took me about twenty minutes to purchase it. I did a test run on the computer of my boss, and it took about nine seconds to open everything, which is fast.

There will be some customers giving up on Lightroom and switching to Photoshop. That’s fine. It’s merely an exercise in futility. Lightroom 3 is not on par with CS5. Lightroom 5 is packed with features, but I found that opening newer, large scanned files (1.5–4 GB) can be so slow that it’s like working in molasses. That’s partly because the new version of Lightroom adds file format support for JPEG 2000 and Matroska, both of which Lightroom 3 can’t recognize, and it’s partly because Lightroom 5 has a new exclusive mode for previewing 8.3 megapixel RAW files.
