The original Ramayana is a classic of Indian literature, and it was replete with mythical elements, lush and elaborate descriptions and fertile pictures, which included the terrific scenery of India. It’s an epic that is spread over 24000 couplets. Other versions continue the narrative to the present day.
On the fateful day, the team consisting of Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor and Anushka Sharma had begun the shoot, right after the release of their film Dear Zindagi. But since debut, Anushka became busy with Bollywod and Janhvi with Galli Chalisa. Ian Smith, (the producer of Ramayan, and also the executive producer of this film), informed me that the ‘team’ of Ramayan was now going to make the a different version of Ramayan in a non-Hollywood way.
Kamal Haasan, after taking on the roles of Ravana, Hanuman, Vali, Sugreeva, Vibhishana, Kirata, Jaibhishana and Ravana’s brother Kumbhakarna in Tamil film industry, decided to take the challenge of producing an epic version of Ramayana for Tamil audience.
